'In the Flesh' (EP) is Farbeak's second release. It contains five instrumental tracks, featuring an eclectic blend of new wave, ambient, dub and downtempo house. The opening and main track is the balearic ‘Pornic by Night’. With its romantic retro feel it pays homage to the beautiful French coastal village. ‘The garden of Love’ has no clear-cut rhythm and invites the listener to surrender to the pleasures of the senses. ‘Saint Christopher says hello’ is a danceable piece of 80s arcade electro music, and was recorded days after Verbeek survived a car crash. Smoke & Mirrors is an unusual concoction of steampunk and technodub, that needs multiple plays to be fully enjoyed. The final track ‘Not all those that wander are lost’ lets you float in nothingness where everything comes and goes. Like all Farbeak’s music, ‘In the Flesh’ is influenced by electronic and indie music from the 1960s till today and mixed carefully with a keen eye for detail. Inspiration is also found in the practice of meditation and tai chi.

Written, produced and mixed by Tjeerd Verbeek at Optimystic Studios Utrecht, The Netherlands, Europe. Cover art painted by Anne-Maria Waterreus. Farbeak plays Fender acoustic bass & Ableton Live. Karma copyright protected.
